Thankfully, Some Things Never Change

Photo Courtesy of Benjamin LehmanIn the nineteen fifties, a song titled The Best Things in Life Are Free,

was written and later recorded by Frank Sinatra and Dinah Shore.

The words described our natural surroundings which included the Moon, the Stars

the Sun, Springtime, and Love, all of which were free for everyone.

I am unable to sing the song but I would like to quote the words to you

“The moon belongs to everyone

The Best Things in Life are Free.

The Stars belong to everyone,

They gleam there for you and me.

The flowers in Spring,

The robins that sing,

The moonbeams that shine,

They’re yours, they’re mine.

And love can come to everyone

The Best Things in life are free.”

That was then and now to fast forward to the present,

to the year 2024, where the prices are rising on a daily basis

but the words of that song still stand true today.

It speaks to the universal values of love, happiness, and the beauty

that surrounds us that remains free.

Thankfully, some things never change!

Happy Thanksgiving
