A Slight Twist of the Wrist

Although the dog’s leash is held by his owner’s hand
the dog thinks he is truly in command.
If on their walks the dog suddenly stops to sniff and look around,
the owner chooses to wait patiently to see what the inquisitive dog has found.
The dog is ready to keep moving and exploring more,
but for the owner, this walk has become a repetitive bore.
The owner decided it was time to go on home,
but the dog persisted, he still wanted to roam.
With a slight twist of the wrist to the dog’s leash by the owner’s hand,
it was a no-nonsense message that the dog could understand
It was a mutual win for both as each one filled their demand,
which led to believe that they were both in command.
