Masterful Momentum

As the year comes to a close, my extraordinary clients are looking at what they are creating in their lives in 2024.

After working with hundreds of people on procrastination, goal clarity, and habit building, I've seen two keys to continuing your momentum:

Why are you wanting/building/sustaining momentum in a certain area?

What are the small habits needed?

Until something is a regular part of your day/week, continued action is helped along by really feeling into the why or the desire behind your goals.

Attaching a strong emotion increases momentum. No long contemplation is required, and definitely no shoulds are needed. Whether it's health, money, photo Courtesy of Greg Rosenkerelationships ( 3 of the biggest human drivers ), or other goals, get super clear on your why.

Next, use tiny habits to create the momentum you want. One at a time. Resist the urge to have a long list of tiny habits. Start with one action - it's the way any results occur.

In fact, action breeds action which creates momentum. So while the why can be motivating, don't let your mind fool you ( as I've done in the past ) into thinking you need to overanalyze!

How some of my clients are building momentum:

~ Scheduling in several non-negotiable workout days, letting go of the belief, "I'm too busy."

~ Building in 15-30 minutes weekly to review the following week's schedule - are the main actions for productivity scheduled daily?

~ Flexing her tendency towards a loooong to-do list, allowing space for a growing desire for ease and simple fun. Building new questions like - is this choice fun? Does it support my true values?  while releasing questions like - how can I get all of this done? has been incredibly freeing for her.

~ Creating systems to manage multiple businesses in order to manage overwhelm and be in complete ownership of her life, not falling victim to reactive or stagnant states of being.

~ Developing creative ways to support her growing team's momentum. By helping them see their individual strengths, goals, and motivations, and create a winning attitude, they see actions pay off, and momentum builds.

~ Practicing acknowledgment of achievements - celebrating wins or praising oneself feels good, and studies show happier people are more productive.

Participants are managers and leaders who will become clear on their blockers and energizers and will eliminate the blocks, no matter what the goals are. As a busy leader, a high achiever in your life, it's very easy to get sucked into overwhelm and stress.
