Drops

It’s just a drop of water after all

A wail, a moan, drops drizzle down

Gut-breaking guffaw, drops dampen ground

A solemn nod of anguished defeat

One drop, two drops, repeat

Drops of labor, drops of love

Drop swiped by a velvet glove

Piercing drops, an infant falls

Paralyzed, no drops at all

Drops of regret, drops of pain

Drops of envy, drops of blame

How can a tear say it all?

It’s just a drop of water after all
