Acquiesce

Acquiesce, run and hide

A racial slur, a suicide

Close your eyes, never seeing

Staying quiet, you’re agreeing

Confrontation, never press

Silent secrets, acquiesce

Stay the path, avoid the pain

See the dirt, avoid the stain

Simple words, could change the course

Crush the hatred, kill the source

Reaching out, late at night

Saves the spirit, brings the light

Acquiesce, run and hide

A racial slur, a suicide

Close your eyes, never seeing

Staying quiet, you’re agreeing
