Michelle Obama, is there any other FLOTUS who is comparable?  From her fashionable flair to fitness and food tips for all, she’s a tough act to follow.  We’ve enjoyed everything about her over her eight years at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, mom, equality advocate, a role model for our girls, as well as her own, we’re not about to let her go.  Keep your eyes on Michelle, with degrees from Harvard Law, Malia, is there now, and Princeton, she’s still advocating for our kids. Heard speak at Inbound2017, interviewed by Roxanne Gay, in Boston and she has an agenda.  Her woman empowerment “tour” continues, including a book at hand and more than she was ready to share.  Great speaker too!  Oprah for president, Michelle, Secretary of Education?  It could happen, more impossible things have.

Keep an eye on Kamala, her story is just getting started.  After having served as the first female Attorney General of California, she’s the second African-American woman to serve as a senator for the state of California. Her popularity among voters has even led to her being suggested as the first female President as she continues to fight for equality and justice for all.

Marsha P. Johnson – LGBT Now, LGBT then.  Meet Marsha P. Johnson was a leader during the infamous Stonewall Riots, which started the revolution for the LGBT community in the 60’s. It was time to stand up against police surveillance and harassment of New York's LGBT community. Many may not know this, but these riots set the days of Pride Day Parades held across America in, or around June.

A black transgender activist, Johnson's efforts included mentoring and helping provide housing for homeless LGBT youth. Her AIDS activism with the organization Act Up helped serve Trans communities.
