The Massachusetts Women's History Center
The Massachusetts Women's History Center (MWHC) is proud to announce that nominations are OPEN for our flagship program, the Massachusetts Women's Hall of Fame (MWHOF)! As with the MWHC, the MWHOF is dedicated to recognizing and celebrating the extraordinary contributions of women and groups, organizations, or movements (“organizations”) that have shaped Massachusetts, the nation, and the world, and by so doing, advanced the role of women in society.
The MWHOF Selection Committee is encouraging historians, scholars, and the general public to submit nominations of women and organizations that have contributed monumentally and benefited Massachusetts, the country, and/or the world, and, by so doing, advanced the role of women in society.
For the INAUGURAL CLASS to the MWHOF, awardees will include two groups: Historic and Living women and organizations. The HISTORIC women/organizations for the inaugural class will be limited to women/organizations of the Revolutionary Era. Future classes will also include Historic and Living women. Eligibility Criteria and the Nomination Form are available on our website!
The opening of nominations to the MWHOF marks an important milestone in our mission to uplift and preserve the legacies of women and organizations that have broken barriers, sparked movements, and transformed communities, often without the recognition they so deeply deserve. By launching the MWHOF with the opening of nominations, we are not only honoring their powerful stories but also creating a permanent space for future generations to learn from and be inspired by their impact.
We believe that honoring the past is essential to shaping a more just and inclusive future. Thank you for helping us shine a light on women and organizations that have and continue to shape history.
Please see Upcoming Events below and join us! Donations are always welcome and appreciated :)
Thank you so much for participating with us in this important work and for being on this journey with us!
Onward!
