Sit or Move in Meditation not Medication

I was babysitting her son, so she could get some self-care.

I was reminded how when I was a single mother from 29 to 44, I had to be resourceful to keep my sanity because I was on my own. Going to school, raising them, and having no mom or family to help me. We lived in a 3rd floor flat in the mission district of San Francisco. I would have to walk up the Victorian staircase sometimes with two sleeping little girls in my arms. To this day I thank Ashtanga yoga and weightlifting for the ability to do that and not break my back.

We lived near a park that we could walk to and play regularly. In San Francisco, there are many amazing parks for kids. We would walk down the tree-lined Folsom Street full of Victorians smaller and huge to get to our park. Across the street from Los Ninos Park, was The Red Poppy Art house. On Saturdays, they had big pieces of paper on the outside walls and paints and paint brushes. We often stopped and painted some pictures.

Today, I still have some of those paintings. I often say that I will put them in frames. As I have remarried and we have moved several times for my school and my work or my husband’s work, they have gotten wrinkled yet still very precious to me.

I am the kind of person who if I have photos or art or some physical object- can remember things better. Many times, I really want to remember.

Then there are times that I do not want to remember and some circumstances are edged deep in my memory. My trademark is EVERY CHALLENGE IS A GIFT TO GROW AND EVOLVE. I believe that ALWAYS EVERYTHING IS FOR OUR HIGHEST GOOD.

Photo Courtesy of Kelly SikkemaI have not believed this all my life. It is through my training as a Doctor of Medical Qigong therapy mainly. Also, the studies in Daoist, Hindu, Buddhist and Christian traditions and wonderful teachers like Louise Hay have made us become more aware. The things that make me uncomfortable are not the highest vibrations and I do not want to stay in them too long. However often teachers like Ester from the Abraham channeling work with the law of attraction, Napoleon Hill, and others, say that THERE IS NOTHING MORE IMPORTANT THAN THAT WE FEEL GOOD.

From my Medical Qigong Therapy training, I have learned and taught my students, clients, and retreat attendees that we must honor UNCOMFORTABLE EMOTIONS. It is not in our best interest to rush out of them…. rather honor them and express them in healthy ways.

We practice journaling with yellow paper and wooden pencil, art, dance, music, and specific to Medical Qigong Therapy -the healing sounds as they relate to different Yin Organs. Heart- anxiety for example is one of the AQUIRED uncomfortable emotions of the Heart. (Acquired meaning we were not born with them.) Panic attacks relate to the Heart – and if you have ever had one you feel it in your heart or chest.

Uncomfortable emotions are part of our highest good. They are telling us something. Once we express them in healthy ways and get them out of our physical tissues… we can be more physically, emotionally, and spiritually healthy. Then we focus on the good feeling and innate virtues we are born with within each organ. One for the Heart is Order. One that I am working on. My desk in California has order – as I am only here for short periods of time from a week to a month generally right now. In Wisconsin, my desks are rather a mess. My new assistant is helping with my scheduling because UP UNTIL NOW my order HAS BEEN lacking there as well. (NOTICE MAGIC WORDs…words have power.)

In the transition from winter to spring, we go from Kidney season to Liver season.  Fear and loneliness related to the Kidneys and Liver relate to Anger, Frustration, and impatience. I

Photo Courtesy of Callie GibsonSometimes things that are out of balance in our lives…. which feel uncomfortable are telling us something that needs our attention. They are a part of us. Honoring especially the ANGER is a slingshot to manifesting during the Spring Transition especially and during spring as well.  Cultivating the innate virtues of the Liver-Compassion, Kindness, and Patience gives us an even better alignment to why we are here, our purpose, and our self-love.

Many people forget that KINDNESS is also for OURSELVES. This is a part of self-care. Kindness is not just for others. The same is true for Compassion and Patience. I find impatience and frustration are my gifts to play and co-create with and less so with anger. However, the anger with things in the world can rise and have me work on compassion for others as they can only be at the level that they are at spiritually.

I often say you cannot be mad at a two-year-old for not being able to drive a car. We cannot be mad at those who think war is the only answer when that is their spiritual lack of development. Yes, Peace -I say. Not No War. I digress. LOL.

I invite you to notice the emotions as they arise in your life. And thank them for showing you something that is helping you grow and evolve. Honor your grief, fear, impatience, anxiety, and overthinking…………LUNGS, KIDNEYS, LIVER, HEART, AND SPLEEN are related and all their systems in Traditional Chinese Medicine.

Being Conscious and Aware is the first step in truly loving yourself. There is no part of you that is not beautiful and worthy of love. All experiences are for our highest good. May not seem like it, but, it is true. You have GUS God, Universe, Source- however you call your higher power- always helping you.  Free will on the other hand is sacred and you are setting that up for a slow road or a faster road to enlightenment, for ease rather than effort in all you do.

The things that I want to forget, are some of the biggest lessons that I have had in my life. Lessons in forgiveness. Lessons in tolerance. Lessons in loving myself and others. Lessons that I am not in control, and yet I AM in control.

If you would like to come to my March 7th and 21st -free 90 workshops on TRANSMUTING ANGER INTO MILLIONS. I would love to help you see the possibilities of what Anger, Frustration, and Impatience can teach us around being in Alignment with our Purpose and Sling Shotting this Spring Transition Energy into the Easy and Fast Manifesting of Millions.
